Cellist, performer and writer of words and music, the increasingly uncategorisable Zoë Martlew travels the globe playing her own music and that written for her and working with some of the world’s most renowned contemporary music ensembles, improvisation, film, electronica, multi-media, pop and rock artists, dance and theatre companies.
Recently taken on by Schott’s as a composer, Zoë also performs her one-woman cabaret show “Revue Z”, is a regular commentator and occasional presenter for radio and TV around the world and is in demand for a wide array of educational activities, competition panels, seminars, debates and project curation.
She studied at the Royal College and Academy of Music, Clare College, Cambridge and the Chopin Academy in Warsaw.
It is her firm belief that our increasingly materialistic world needs its music and musicians more than ever and that no matter what the situation, art always has the potential to see the bigger picture and bring light to the secret soul within.
She is naturally blonde and draws the line at Country and Western.
